Program Description:
In this workshop, participants are invited to bring 3-5 of
their favorite portable possessions to share within a group setting. Using movement, play, storytelling and
dramatic enactment, we will explore the symbolic world of our keepsakes. We'll end with reflection on what this symbolic world means for our lives - our hopes, dreams, and
desires.
This is a playful and interactive program, so dress comfortably.
This workshop is appropriate for persons from age 16 to 116 who want to explore their lives in a playful way, discover interconnections with others, and learn how to use these tools in other contexts.

Instructor: Jennifer Breslin, M.A., R.D.T.
Jennifer Breslin has an M.A.
in Drama Therapy from New York
University and is a
Registered Drama Therapist. After becoming
captivated with the challenges and rewards of working with children and
families, she was inspired to obtain credentials in drama therapy to carry out therapeutic
work with her clients, rather than focusing only on crisis management. She utilizes techniques from drama therapy to facilitate creative process, personal development, and discovery.
Ms. Breslin has worked as
a counselor, drama therapist, developmental play therapist, developmental specialist,
and expressive arts therapist in a variety of community settings in the greater
Los Angeles
area, such as Holding Hands, Creative Stages, Angel's Flight, McRory Speech and
Pediatric Services, and Hathaway Children and Family Services. She has worked with a wide range of clients
including children with autism and other special needs, their families, at-risk
youth, homeless and runaway youth, and teens in crisis. In addition, Ms. Breslin has developed teaching
curricula for children, teachers, and parents at Adat Ari El Early Childhood
Center and in Valley Village, CA,
and Stephen S.
Wise Early
Childhood Education
Center in Los Angeles. In Arizona,
she taught community college courses in psychology and theater and developed arts
education workshops for schools, and in New
York, she coordinated and led psychoeducational
groups for inner city schools and offered crisis counseling for female victims
of domestic violence or sexual assault and children exposed to violence. www.creative-stages.org
